"Author, teacher, and theatrical performer Thomas J. Shimeld, as Wendal Wandell, takes your children back in time to share the history of the Southeast. Using children's literature along with period games, magic, music, and costumes, children learn about the impact individuals have had on history such as George Washington, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Davy Crockett, the Wright Brothers, Jimmy Carter, Martin Luther King, and Pearl S. Buck. Their inspirational stories get children to consider how they, too, can make a splash in history."

Moments from the Eclipse Premier Party!

Eclipse Premier Party, June 29th, 2010!

A couple of weeks ago, Brown Library hosted a premier party the night before "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse". We had a lot of people show up, and we had a great night! We had a trivia contest, poster contest, costume contest, and fun treats and prizes for all.

All was quiet during our trivia contest. 1st place went to Jack Barber.

Guests enjoyed a wide array of snacks and treats.

The prize-winning poster by Guadalupe Villa-Hernandez!

Surprise appearances were made by Edward, Rosalie, and a few scary Volturi members! Zoe Davenport walked away with the prize for her costume featuring Rosalie Cullen before she was turned into a vampire (pictured second from the right in the white dress).

All in all, it was a fantastic night, and we hope everyone had a fun time. Look for more pictures from the party when Brown Library sets up an online picture album later in the month! We really hope that we'll be seeing a lot of you who came at our next party for "Breaking Dawn".

We'd also like to thank our awesome contributers for donating prizes for the party, including Carmike Cinemas of Washington NC; Hot Topic of Greenville, NC; Bath & Body Works of Washington, NC; Hardees of Washington, NC; Pizza Inn of Washington, NC; Burger King of Washington, NC; Food Lion of Washington, NC; and Walmart of Washington NC. Thank you so much - our party wouldn't have been nearly so much fun without all the fantastic prizes to hand out!
