First United Methodist Church Preschool Artwork

The Washington First United Methodist Church preschoolers have designed enchanting shoebox aquariums, fishy art, and sunny spring flowers for our walls and bookshelf tops in the children's area of the library. Here's a sample of some of our lovely decorations:

Saturday Matinees

Secretariat, Saturday, March 12th, @ 12 noon!

Join us on Saturday, March 12th, at 12 p.m. noon for a viewing of "Secretariat", staring Diane Lane.

"Housewife and mother Penny Chenery agrees to take over her ailing father's Virginia-based Meadow Stables, despite her lack of horse-racing knowledge. Against all odds, Chenery -- with the help of veteran trainer Lucien Laurin -- manages to navigate the male-dominated business, ultimately fostering the first Triple Crown winner in twenty-five years." There is no sign-up to attend this movie, but we do encourage you to show up at least fifteen minutes early to guarantee yourself a seat, since we have limited seating. Patrons are also encouraged to bring their own lunches or snacks, and eat while watching the film! This film is rated
PG for brief mild language.

Saturday Matinees

The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, Saturday, March 5th, @ 12 noon!

The Dr. Seuss program on March 2nd may have been cancelled, but the extra even for Saturday is still on! Come join us on March 5th, at 12 p.m. noon for a showing of "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss". We will be showing a few episodes from the hit tv show, and also serving cookies and punch!

Full of delightful puppets and cute, Dr. Seuss-inspired stories, "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss" is sure to entertain the kids! We will be showing three episodes, including "Cat's Play", "The King's Beard", and "A Bird's Guide to Health". In "Cat's Play", everyone pretends to be pirates, and they imagine great adventures. In "The King's Beard", King Lindy of Lime has a beard so long that no one knows just how long it is. And in "A Bird's Guide to Health", Little Cat Z is sick, and Terrence is afraid he'll catch his cold.
