Summer Reading Program: Jeff Jones, Magician, July 2nd, at 11 a.m., at the Washington Civic Center!

One event down, a whole summer of fun to go! Our turnout for the kick-off event was fantastic, and we hope just as many show up to enjoy the wonderful Jeff Jones. On July 2nd, at 11 a.m., at the Washington Civic Center, Jeff Jones will be performing his program "Make a Splash".

"Join Jeff Jones on a magical journey to the bottom of the ocean as he intrigues one and all with his magic show, "Make a Splash", which includes a live bunny, doves, and lots of audience interaction! The magic show will take you on a voyage to the bottom of the ocean, where we are on the search for "The Hidden City of Atlantis"."

Monday thru Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Closed on Sundays

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off: Steve Somers, Amazing Teacher, June 25th, at 11 a.m., at the Washington Civic Center!

The kick-off event of the Summer Reading Program is finally here! Last week we had a huge turnout for the sign-ups, and we hope everyone who signed up will be able to make it! On June 25th, at 11 a.m., at the Washington Civic Center, Brown Library is pleased to announce that Steve Somers, Amazing Teacher, will be joining us to perfrom his program, "Set Sail!"

"Gear up for a high-seas adventure. Join Captain Steve and his friends as they take your kids on an amazing voyage in search of good character. Students will discover the importance of making wise choices while learning about values such as: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship."

Eclipse Party Reminder, Poster Contest

Eclipse Party, Poster Contest Reminder!

It's a little under a week away until our Eclipse Premiere Party at Brown Library! Everyone is excited, and the sign up slots are almost full. We just wanted to post a little reminder to all of you participating in the poster contest - don't forget to turn in your posters by 7 p.m. on Friday, June 25th, 2010! You've only got a couple days left!

Remember, there are no restrictions on your posters! They can be any size, complicated, simple, or whatever you like, so long as they are themed with the "Twilight Saga". We're giving away some great prizes, and you definitely don't want to miss out.

Eclipse Premiere Party, June 29th!

Eclipse Premiere Party, June 29th, 2010, starting at 5 p.m.!

You've seen the countdown on the side of the blog for almost half a year now, and now it's finally here! On June 30th, the next Twilight Saga movie "Eclipse" premieres across the states. To celebrate, Brown Library is hosting another Twilight-themed party the night before the release! Come join us on June 29th, 2010, from 5 - 6:30 p.m. for all kinds of "Twihard" fun!

We will have a raffle, a trivia contest, a costume contest, and a poster contest - all for fabulous prizes! Not to mention snacks and tons of fun!

There is a limited seating, so you'll have to come by and register to participate. Only registered participants may attend the events! You can also check off which contests you'd like to enter - whether it's just one, or all three!

Also, note that for the "Poster Contest", all posters must be submitted to Brown Library by June 25th for judging!

We hope that this year we'll have just as much fun as we did last year! The Twilight parties have been some of our most successful events in the past, and this one should be no exception! Make sure to hurry in and sign up before all the slots run out!

Summer Reading Program Sign Up!

Make sure to come by on June 18th to sign up for the Summer Reading Program! There is a limit on the amount of children that can participate, so make sure you come in as soon as possible before they're all filled up! Also, parents, you will have to come by the library to sign up. There will be no over-the-phone sign ups! Otherwise, you wouldn't get a reading log, and have nothing to record your books on!

We hope we'll be seeing a bunch of you on Friday! Help us make Summer Reading Program 2010 our best year yet!

Summer Reading Program is Just Around the Corner!

The Summer Reading Program is one of our favorite programs at Brown Library, and this summer is set to be a fun one! The theme for this year is "Make a Splash - Read!", so we'll be showing a few "watery" movies, and giving out "beachy" prizes. Here's a quick look at what's coming up this summer. Throughout the summer we'll be posting each event individually a couple days before it takes place, just as a reminder.
